Even we all read the grammar book of P.K.Mukherjee ,this is the best books to set our basic knowledge in English Grammar. But ,for competitive exams,this is not enough to score. Environment By DR Khullar:-

This book is best for environmental science part of the exam. Environment is also a part of current affairs and general knowledge. So, if you develop yourself in this subject then obviously you can score well in competitive exams.

For the Current Affairs part,I don't suggest any books because in the market there is no particular book for this topic. You can get manybooks just before of the exam. Then you can buy it . But I suggest you to read daily newspaper. There is a book named "Protiyogita Darpan".
